Sandu Liberman was a Romanian born Israeli painter known for his depictions of dancers, city life, and nudes. His portraits often feature women in prayer framed by votive candles. Born in 1923 in Yasi, Romania, Liberman began exhibiting his work as a young man. He took part in state sponsored shows between 1946 and 1953, receiving the gold medal at the International Art Festival of Romania in 1952. Settling in Israel in 1962, he received many commissions from the Israeli Government to paint portraits of high-ranking officials. Graphic Art Prints and Collectibles.
