Lot 0214: FLOWER BRASS TABLE LAMP WITH GALLE GLASS SHADE

41 reviews

An electric brass table lamp executed in the form of a flower. The stand of the lamp represents a flower stalk with climbing leaves. The shade is a lily-shaped Galle glass piece. Emile Galle, 1846-1904, was a French designer who is considered to be one of the major innovators in the French Art Nouveau movement. Cameo glass is a complex decoration technique where the cased glass of two or more colors is carved with a diamond saw or etched with acid, so that the colors of the layer underneath are visible. The shade is yellow with a green and blue flower design and the inscription Galle on the side. Modern Art Nouveau Light Fixtures For Interior Design.
