Emmanuel Augustin Dieudonne Joseph, comte de Las Cases, 1766 to 1842, was a French atlas maker and author, famed for an admiring book about Napoleon. Count de Las Cases has to be considered the only person to actually profit personally from exile with Napoleon on St. Helena. Las Cases was the very first to publish an account of Napoleon’s treatment on St. Helena.
