Vintage silver pendant for necklace in the form of the Jerusalem Heraldic Cross with a green faceted gemstone in center. Designed in the medieval Maltese style with chased decorations on both sides. Hallmarked Jerusalem and 900 silver proof mark on verso. Circa the 1930s. The Jerusalem cross was a heraldic Christian cross consisting of a large cross potent surrounded by four smaller Greek crosslets, one in each quadrant. It was used as the emblem and coat of arms of the Kingdom of Jerusalem from the 1280s representing each quarter the proper Jerusalem Kingdom, The Principality of Antioch, The County of Edessa and the County of Tripoli.
