Zoe Actypi (Greek, 1927-1996) oil on canvas nude female portrait painting. Signed and dated 1961 lower right. Working in a post-cubist idiom, the artist subjected the world of reality to an intense process of fragmentation before recomposing it into imaginative images charged with poetic and expressionistic feeling. Actypi enjoyed a solid career in Paris and received various international awards and honorary distinctions.
