WWI Imperial German Army Model 98/05 n/A Butcher Blade Bayonet for the Mauser Gewehr 98 Rifle. The bayonet has a smooth back, not one where the saw back was removed. It also has a metal flash guard on the top of the handle. The blade is bright. No rust or pitting, but has minor spots of discoloration from age. There is no evidence of sharpening. The handle has wooden grips. Very nice condition, no chips or breaks in the handle. It has nice distinct ridges on both side. Not all worn down. The blade is marked with the German Proof Mark, dated 1916. The blade is marked, Simson&Co Suhl. No scabbard.
