A vintage Italian Capodimonte porcelain figurine of an English Army Dragoon, a Soldier of the Napoleonic army 1815. Sculptured by Bruno Merli. Engraved with a motto, Dieu Et Mon Droit, God and My Right, the motto of the English, and then the British monarchy since the time of Henry 5th (1413-1422), on the base. The original spelling of the motto is in French. Signed with etching on the back. Marked with a blue ink manufacturer stamp on the bottom. Created in King Studios in Naples, Italy, home to Capodimonte and such renowned artists as Merli, Borsato, Cedrashchi, and Cappe, in the 1980s. Part of a series of twelve Napoleonic soldiers immortalized by Merli. Antique and Vintage Porcelain Figurines, Statues, Statuettes, and Collectibles.
