Marked in the print lower to the center. Framed. This original poster by surrealist painter, Salvador Dali pays tribute to Albrecht Durer, a German painter and printmaker renowned for his religious iconography. Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904-1989) Surrealist painter and printmaker, influential for his explorations of subconscious imagery. Dali subscribed to the surrealist Andre Bretons theory of automatism but ultimately opted for a method of tapping into the unconscious that he termed critical paranoia, a state in which one could cultivate delusion while maintaining ones sanity.
