Five antique color lithograph prints including First Landing at Gorahama, Bridge of Cut Stone and Entrance to a Temple, Simoda, Lew Chew, Temple of Hat Chi Man Ya Chu Ro, Simoda (Sintoo), and Devotions in the Great Temple, Simoda after Peter Bernhard Wilhelm Heine (1827-1885), and Mother and Child (Simoda) after Eliphalet Brown (American, 1816-1886). All the illustrations are from the Narrative of the Expedition of an American Squadron to the China Seas and Japan: performed in the years 1852, 1853, and 1854, under the command of Commodore M.C. Perry, United States Navy, by order of the Government of the United States is a printed history, in 3 volumes, of the Perry Expedition, written by Francis L. Hawks, under the supervision of Commodore Matthew Calbraith Perry, and using the written materials compiled by Perry and his colleagues on the expedition. The series was first presented as a report to the United States Senate, then published commercially, in 1856.

Overall good antique condition. Signs of age and wear. Yellowing, stains, spots, damage at the edges and on the corners. Refer to photos. Sold As Is.
