Vintage Italian Garnier 1972 carved white alabaster sculpture busts of Dante Alighieri and Beatrice Portinari who has been commonly identified as the principal inspiration for his Vita Nuova, and is also commonly identified with the Beatrice who appears as one of his guides in the last book of the Divine Comedy, Paradiso, and in the last four canti of Purgatorio. Stamped on bottom with the manufacturer's marks.
