Petit; a portrait medal of Denis Diderot (French philosopher, art critic, and writer, 1713-1784) by Domard; a portrait medal of Francois Marie Arouet, better known by his pen name Voltaire (French Enlightenment writer, historian, 1694-1778) by Francois Caunois; a Ludovicus Magnus Rex Christanissimus medal by F. Mauger, and others. An original Goethe Medal, also known as the Goethe-Medaille, is a yearly prize given by the Goethe-Institut honoring non-Germans who have performed outstanding service for the German language and for international cultural relations.
