Boris Schatz (Israeli, 1867-1932) pair of relief sterling silver plaques from a triptych of silver plaques, titled Blessing of the Lulav, Jeremiah, At the Wailing Wall. Circa: 1900s-1920s. Each plaque has a casted signature of the artist in Hebrew lower to the center. Framed. Boris Schatz is known for Painting, figurative relief sculpture, teaching, design. He was sent for rabbinical studies in Vilna, the Jerusalem of Hebrew learning in Eastern Europe. After a short while, he traveled to Paris where he achieved his maturity as an artist along with fame and success for he accepted the invitation from the King of Bulgaria to become the court's artist and head of the Royal Academy and Museum in Sofia, Bulgaria. Prof. Schatz had founded the famous and prominent Bezalel Art School in Jerusalem. His devotion to the idea of Bezalel and its realization has added to his own artistic expression. The mixture of Jewishness and art inspired his work. His preferred media was bas relief which he mastered with elegance and power.
