An antique Russian Orthodox icon of Saint John the Divine in Silence. The hand-painted icon with egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on the wood panel. Inscribed upper to the center. Circa: 18th century. The first icon was painted by Nektary Kulyuskin (17th century). Entered the Hermitage in 1960; received by the State Hermitage Museum expedition sent to identify and collect works of Russian art in different areas of the Arkhangelsk Region in 1960. Antique Russian religious items and collectibles.
