A Russian silver and enamel Easter Egg. The egg is separated into three gilt wash fastened halves with a clasp. The exterior is enameled with green, cobalt blue, pink, red, and light blue foliage and scrollwork patterns made in the Plique A Jour technique. The egg is completed with a Russian Orthodox oval hand painted icon of George the Victorious, slaying the serpent in an oval silver frame. Mixed media technique: egg tempera, gesso on a wood board. The icon can be pulled out. A hanging loop on the top. Marked with Silver standard mark, and other Cyrillic and Assay marks inside and on the frame. Weight 371.7 grams.
