It is a genre of painting of the Baroque era, an allegorical still life, the compositional center of which is traditionally a human skull. Such paintings, an early stage in the development of still life, were meant to remind us of the transience of life. Unsigned. He has had many exhibitions in the United States as well as in Latvia, France, Mexico, Norway and Russia.
