Jakob Fischer Rhein (German/ French, 1888-1976) watercolor painting on paper, Amorbach Abteikirche. Signed and titled lower right. Framed. The painting depicts a Rococo Style interior of Amorbach Abbey (a now-defunct imperial abbey of the Benedictine order in the German city of Amorbach). The color of the stucco and frescoes was carefully coordinated. The pictures in the central nave show scenes from the life of St. Benedict, the main altar shows the Assumption of Mary.
