The collection includes a black and white engraving after the original oil painting on wood, Galatea, 1880, by Gustave Moreau; a black and white engraving after the original, History of Beder, The Slave Before The King of Persia, 1881, by Adolphe Lalauze; an etching, Holyroad Palace, Edinburgh, 1944, by Alex Wilson Sr., signed in pencil lower right, titled in pencil lower left, additionally titled and dated on the back; a hand colored engraving, The Admiralty Whitehall, signed in the plate lower right and left, framed; and others. Gustave Moreau, 1826 to 1898, was a French artist and an important figure in the Symbolist movement. Adolphe Lalauze, 1838 to 1906, was a prolific French etcher who made the illustrations for many books. Alex Wilson Sr. is a graphic artist, known for etchings depicting cityscapes and animals.
