Lot 0362: DESK DECOR AND TOOLS FROM MAJOR STELLINGER-SCOTT

The lot includes a rare John F. Kennedy bust sculpture trophy given at the International Ladies Garment Workers Union convention in 1965. The sculpture by Robert Berks is made of plaster and painted a dark green. Engraved on the back of the base: A Presentation of 65th Anniversary Convention, ILGWU, Miami Beach, May 1965; A vintage brass statue of Liberty Sculpture, German Solingen manicure tool toe nail nipper, a folding multi tool, and other tools. Vintage desk top decorations and collectibles. The present lot on auction form part of the Kuranda's family estate. The provenance of items can be tracked back to Felix Kuranda in XIX Century Austrian Empire, member of a well known family of bankers and politicians; directly related to the Karpeles, Wittelshofer, Milne And Lederer families. The most chronological recent lots are former belongings from USA veteran Major Thom Stellinger-Scott related through marriage with the Kuranda lineage. He was a veteran of Korean War as well as a reputed amateur photographer and artist. The Stellinger-Scott family resided for decades at Montauk Long Island NY.
