Hand carved and polychrome painted wood, eyes are set with glass; the base consists of red velvet cushion and ornately carved gilded wooden frame. Baby Jesus is depicted standing, with the right hand raised in blessing. Skilfully carved with great realism, and reflecting a close observation of infant anatomy.
