A vintage German Leica III rangefinder film camera. The camera is completed with a Leitz Elmar lens. Serial Number 293864. Manufactured in Wetzlar, Germany in 1938. The Leica III is designed as an enhanced version of the Leica II camera. For the first time, the shutter has a fast shutter speed of 1/1000th of a second. Focal plane shutter, mechanical, with horizontal movement of cloth curtains. Another innovation is the increase by one and a half times the magnification of the rangefinder eyepiece, which is still separate from the viewfinder. As a result, with the previous nominal 39 mm base, the new camera rangefinder provided an effective base of 58.5 mm. Photographic material film type 135. Completed with a carrying leather case. Vintage Cameras, Photographs, Equipment, Accessories and collectibles.
