An antique Russian brass Eastern Orthodox traveling hinged-icon that consists of three panels hinged together. One right panel is missing. Circa the 19th century. A long tradition in the Eastern Orthodox faith in Russia where the faithful would carry portable icons when they travel. This is a fine example of a traveling icon, made of brass, with hinged panels providing an extensive narrative of the life of Jesus Christ.
