Lot 0219: 19TH C. GERMAN FAIRING PORCELAIN PIG FIGURINES

A lot of ten Victorian era collectible German novelty fairing porcelain pig figurines including pigs in house, ships, cars, cups, and other scenes. They were prizes or trinkets when the large fairs were in their heyday. All figurines are painted in the same cream color and gilded for the pigs on the white ground. Several items are adorned with medallions with Marine scenes and titled below. One could be used as a moneybox. One is made in the shape of a basket with a metal handle and coals inside. Most of the items are stamped, Made in Germany, on the bottom. One is stamped with manufacturer mark, W. C. G., on the bottom. Circa: 1850s to 1900s. German porcelain figurines and decor collectibles.
