Lea Halpern (Dutch, American, 1901-1985) artistic ceramic bowl covered with matt glaze outside, and shine glaze inside in brown and grey shades. Signed by the artist with initials, L. H., and numbered, 214, on the bottom. Circa 1920s - 1940s. Embossed on one side. Lea Halpern was known as the van Gogh of potters, she experimented with glazes, special effects, and innovative pigments. Provenance: The William Doyle, lot # 290.
