An old fine hand-carved wooden slingshot or catapult, Cote d’Ivoire, Baule people. The upper part of the slingshot is carved in the form of a female figure. The lower part retains traces of white paint. Slingshots or catapults were used amongst the Baule people to hunt fruit bats which were considered a delicacy.
