Lot 16 - AFTER MARGARET KEANE BIG EYE GIRL PORTRAIT PRINT

After Margaret Keane, American, 1927 to 2022, color print on board. Stylized portrait of a girl with big eyes. Signed lower left. Framed. Margaret Keane is known for her distinctive portraits of children with oversized eyes. Her former husband, Walter Keane, took credit for her work until their divorce in 1965, when she was forced to take him to court to prove she was the actual artist responsible. Keane has said that Amedeo Modigliani served as her biggest influence in how she paints the female form, and her work can be viewed as a precursor to Yoshitomo Nara’s large-eyed children and animals. Collectible Graphic Art, Prints And Multiples, Wall Decor, Portraiture.
