Lot 488 - GERMAN M J RUKERT COBALT BLUE AND SILVER CENTERPIECE

A late 19th century German centerpiece. The ware features a removable oval cobalt blue glass liner set within a pierced 800 silver mount by M.J. Rukert. The Neoclassical design incorporates four architectural pilaster form feet topped with drop ring handles and joined by two horizontal bands. The upper band is decorated with a repeating stylized foliate motif, while the lower band features an embossed laurel leaf pattern. The underside of the feet bears the manufacturers mark alongside German national hallmarks, including the 800 fineness stamp. Circa: 1880.
