An antique European Belle Epoque oil on canvas genre scene painting attributed to Italian artist Luigi Bechi, 1830 to 1919. The painting using a warm palette depicts a refined domestic scene featuring a lady in an off-the-shoulder white gown seated in an intricate wicker chair. The composition centers on the figure as she pauses with a teacup, set against a backdrop of a table with a bouquet of roses and a wall adorned with small framed artworks. Illegible signature in the lower right, presumably Bechi. Framed. European Fine Art, Portraiture, and Collectibles.

Overall good antique condition. The unlined canvas is structurally sound. The painted surface exhibits heavy, widespread craquelure throughout the entire composition, most noticeably in the face and dress. The paint appears stable with no active flaking. Housed in a heavily ornate, later giltwood frame showing minor wear.
Frame: 45 x 35 in. Image: 37 1/2 x 28 in.
