An antique German repousse silver compact box designed after the Nuremberg silver medal by Albrecht Durer and Hans Krafft the Elder. Emperor Charles V on the obverse. Imperial eagle, date 1521, and Habsburg dynasty coats of arms on the reverse. Gold wash interior. The city council of Nuremberg commissioned the medal in 1521 for a proposed visit by the newly crowned Emperor Charles V to celebrate the first Parliament to be held there.
