Marcel Vertes, Hungarian, French, American, 1895 to 1961, a limited edition lithograph on paper depicting a military scene. Signed, inscribed and dated 1942 in pencil, lower left. Additionally inscribed in pencil, lower to the center. A newspaper clip with a printed artwork, on the backside. Framed. Marcel Vertes was a French costume designer and illustrator of Hungarian Jewish origins. He won two Academy Awards, Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design, for his work on the 1952 film Moulin Rouge. Modernist European Graphic Art Prints and Collectibles.
