Frantisek Libal, Czech, 1896 to 1974, an oil painting on canvas, Road to Lomnica, depicting a forest landscape. Signed lower right. Framed. A paper label with an inscription in Czech confirms that the painting was created by the Czech academic artist Frantisek Libal, on the backside. The works authenticity is confirmed by Lila Libalova, listed as the artists wife. Two seals, typically used to mark paintings exhibited or cleared through customs, on the backside. Frantisek Libal was a prominent Czech academic painter, celebrated primarily for his contribution to 20th century landscape and portrait art. He became widely recognized for his captivating cityscapes of Prague and his evocative, realistic depictions of the countryside of South Bohemia.
