A mixed media acrylic painting on canvas, titled Palette II, was executed in 1992 by the Greek-American artist Paul Giovanopoulos, born 1939. The composition features a symmetrical four-by-four grid of sixteen individual painter palettes, each rendered in a distinct stylistic variation ranging from pointillism and pop art to abstract expressionism and photorealism. The piece is signed, dated, and titled on the reverse. A gallery label from Louis K. Meisel Gallery in New York is affixed to the stretcher. Paul Giovanopoulos is a Greek-American artist and illustrator known for his surrealist style and complex investigations of everyday objects. Born in Kastoria, Greece, he moved to the United States as a teenager and has been a long-time resident of New York City.
