Lot 10 - SOMNATH HORE INDIAN ETCHING 1961

An etching on paper by renowned Indian artist Somnath Hore, 1921 to 2006, featuring five distinct rectangular plates arranged vertically to create a single narrative composition. The imagery depicts stylized figures, rural landscape elements, and architectural motifs rendered with deep tonal contrasts. Signed and dated Somnath Hore, 1961 in the lower right margin and additionally inscribed lower left. Somnath Hore was an Indian sculptor and printmaker. His sketches, sculptures and prints were a reaction to major historical crises and events of 20th century Bengal, such as the Bengal Famine of 1943 and the Tebhaga movement. He was a recipient of the Indian civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan.
