A Soviet era Tajik SSR propaganda poster depicting Kumrikhon Ganieva, a legendary Tajik cotton picker, a leading worker, and a labor heroine. Designed by Krasnopolsky. The text on the poster is an excerpt from a work by Tajik poet Mirsaid Mirshakar. The translation into Russian was done by poet Galina Adalis. The poster dates back to the late 1940s and early 1950s. During this period, cotton was a strategic resource for post war reconstruction in Tajikistan and other Central Asian republics. Kumrikhon Ganieva became a living symbol of the labor heroism of young Komsomol members and womens emancipation in the region. Published by State Publishing House of the Tajik SSR, 1946.
