An oil on board painting attributed to Armin Buchterkirch, 1859 to 1915, was an American 19th century artist. Featuring a rugged coastal scene. The dark foreground contrasts with the luminous sea and sky, creating depth. Gentle white waves are shown crashing against a small rocky outcrop, adding a sense of movement to the composition. The vast expanse of the ocean stretches toward the horizon under a soft, hazy sky filled with delicate, pale clouds. In the far distance, a thin line of palm trees or tropical vegetation is visible along the coast, suggesting a warm or exotic location. The color palette is dominated by muted earthy tones and soft yellows, creating a calm and somewhat nostalgic atmosphere.
