Edna Hibel, American, 1917 to 2014, color lithograph and pastel on Rives paper. Titled Sheila and Child. Artists Proof, out of edition of 23. Dated 1983. The artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity. Edna Hibel was an American painter best known for her Impressionistic landscapes and Mother and Children series, inspired by the work of both Mary Cassatt and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Hibel studied painting at the Boston Museum School of Fine Art, graduating in 1939. She founded the Edna Hibel Museum of Fine Art in 1977 in Jupiter, FL on the campus of Florida Atlantic University, which today hold many of Hibels works alongside paintings by other artists.
