Joan Miro, 1893 to 1983, was a Catalan painter, sculptor, and graphic artist, one of the most significant innovators and experimenters of modern art. His work, close to surrealism, is based on abstract art with elements reminiscent of childrens drawings and figures vaguely resembling real objects.
