An antique French LEscalier de Cristal vase with a rectangular shape, resting on an ornate bronze stand. The vase is decorated with painted motifs in an East Asian style. These decorations include a landscape scene within a diamond-shaped frame, featuring mountains, water, and foliage in muted tones. There are also stylized red and gold patterned elements on one side, and dark green and black painted plants or reeds lower on the base. The bronze stand has intricate scrollwork with four decorative feet. LEscalier de cristal 1804 to 1923 is an old Parisian house created by Marie Desarnaud, born Marie Jeanne Rosalie Charpentier, in 1804. Famous during the Restoration, she was the first trader of her time to offer clocks, candelabras, ornamental vases that combined cut crystal and gilt bronze.
