An antique American sepia-toned photo of David Glasgow Farragut 1801 to 1870. He is depicted in a double-breasted uniform with rank insignia. Signed lower left and lower right. Framed by an ornate carved wooden frame with leaf motifs. Circa the mid 19th century. David Glasgow Farragut was a flag officer of the United States Navy during the American Civil War. He was the first rear admiral, vice admiral, and admiral in the United States Navy.
