James Pattison Cockburn, British, 1779 to 1847, two British ink drawings on paper, each depicting a landscape scene, one inscribed and dated 1817 and the other 1819, with additional information to the reverse. Framed. James Pattison Cockburn was an artist, author, and military officer known for his topographical works. Cockburn, who trained at the Royal Military Academy in Woolwich, integrated his artistic skill into his military career, producing finely observed drawings that reflect his mastery of perspective and composition.
