This expressionist oil on canvas still life by David Burliuk (1882-1967) depicts a vibrant bouquet of flowers in a blue bowl set against a coastal landscape background. The work utilizes the artist's signature thick impasto technique and a high-contrast palette of cobalt blue and warm floral tones, signed "BURLIUK." in red at the lower right. The reverse features a relined canvas and a label from the Central State Historical Archive of Ukraine in Kyiv (TsDIAK), identifying the work as part of Fonds 1268. Known as the "Father of Russian Futurism," Burliuk’s floral compositions often bridge the gap between his avant-garde roots and a later, more lyrical expressionism.
