An antique French porcelain cabinet plate by Charles Ahrenfeldt Limoges. Ca. 1894 to 1930. Turquoise border with gilt ornament. The center depicts a hand-painted female portrait in landscape scenery. Signed by the artist in the bottom middle, Moniez. After the painting titled Portrait of Elizabeth Jenks Beaufoy by Thomas Gainsborough, 1727 to 1788, a prominent English painter. Hallmarks CA France Depose, Aux Lions de Faience, Reu de Rivoli 90, Paris, Patented are on the backside. Aux Lions de Faiences was a specialized tableware shop in Paris founded in 1761.
