Antique Auction

A large antique Chinese tiered wedding basket. The basket is comprised of three tiers and adorned with a carved wooden handle accented with brass fittings. A plexiglass covering for the top transforms it into a small table. Panels at the corners twelve in total are decorated with landscapes, plants and floral designs.. The characters woven on the top and the brass bat motifs convey longevity and happiness, appropriate wishes for a wedding couple. Circa: early 20th century.
