KPM is revered for its porcelain plaques depicting historical scenes or copies of famous paintings. Joseph Lieck, of Berlin, was one of the popular German artists of the day. He was a Prussian, and a graduate of the Berlin Academy, and has been especially successful in his delineation of the softer and more tender types of feminine beauty.
