41 reviews

An oil painting on board, depicting a portrait of a young woman after Diego Rivera, Mexican, 1886 to 1957. Inscribed, Diego Rivera, and dated 1939, upper right. Framed. Diego Rivera was a prominent Mexican painter. His large frescoes helped establish the Mural movement in Mexican and international art. His murals are characterized by large, simplified human figures, bright colors, and a noticeable influence of Aztec culture. At the same time, Rivera gave preference to images of ordinary residents of his country and the events of the Mexican Revolution of 1910. His Detroit works focus on industrialization, factory workers, and machinery. His third wife was fellow Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Mid Century Mexican Realist Graphic Art For Collectors. One of a kind artwork.
