An extra large Russian 88 silver and enamel Easter egg box. The box is separated into two halves. A gilt wash interior. The exterior of the egg is enameled with blue, white, red, cobalt blue, pink, turquoise and green scrollwork and floral patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The exterior is adorned with relief silver double heads Imperial eagles, and geometrical patterns, and enameled porcelain plaques depicting landscapes. The egg is encrusted with Amethyst stones and Ruby stones on the top and on the bottom. Completed with a figural stand with legs. The legs are made in the shape of hooves with a foliage pattern on the top. Marked with a Silver standard hallmark, and other Cyrillic and Assay marks inside. Total weight including stand: 462 g.
