An antique French animated industrial clock in the form of a steam locomotive on a black marble base with feet and rails from the industrial series popular in French horology during the late 19th century. Circa: 1895s. The engineer's cab houses the clock while the boiler has the barometer and supports the smokestack with the attached thermometer. Below are the six animated wheels with numerous steel linkages and to the front is the cowcatcher. A bronzed enameled dial with black Arabic numerals, a white center, and openwork gilded hands. A white enameled porcelain aneroid barometer dial has the indications in English, an embossed bronze center, and a pair of indicator hands. The thermometer scale shows the temperature in Celsius.
