Lot 0077: TWO ANTIQUE AUSTRIAN HAND PAINTED ETCHINGS

41 reviews

A lot of two fantastic hand painted etchings with architectural views of Vienna. One hand painted etching on paper with a Belvedere view by Egon Chabert, Austrian, 1889-1962, signed in pencil on the lower right. And the other is a hand painted etching on silk titled Wien, Beethoven House in Heiligenstadt by Hans Schindler, Austrian, born 1907. Both are beautifully framed. The present lot on auction form part of the Kuranda's family estate. The provenance of items can be tracked back to Felix Kuranda in XIX Century Austrian Empire, member of a well known family of bankers and politicians; directly related to the Karpeles, Wittelshofer, Milne And Lederer families. The most chronological recent lots are former belongings from USA veteran Major Thom Stellinger-Scott related through marriage with the Kuranda lineage.
