An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon of Guriy, Samon and Aviv, Orthodox martyrs who lived in Edessa in the 3rd century AD. Travel icon of miniature size. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Gilt silver riza or oklad with repousse decor. The characters are named in Church Slavonic on the bottom of the riza.
