Two antique portraits of the English stage actor William Charles Macready, 1793 to 1873. The first is an engraved portrait of Macready as Benedick in Act 2, Scene 3 of Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, circa the early 19th century. And the second is his lithograph portrait, head and shoulders to left in an oval, in character with head turned to left with wild stare, beard and his left hand grasping the fur trim on his coat, by Napoleon Ploszczynski, printed by Hanhart, published by Joseph Sandell Welch, after John Deffett Francis, 1850.
